A practice-centered nervous system workshop for all who want to build somatic care skills and relieve stress and strain patterns in the body.
This workshop starts with an overview of basic nervous system states and a discussion of how we can know when we're moving between states.
Then, we discuss the body's amazing natural capacity to tremor - to release built-up stress and strain in the body! Our time on the therapeutic tremor includes a demo, several practice opportunities, and 1:1 support as you try the tool out for yourself.

The Winter 2024 cohort is for anyone wanting to grow their conflict capacity & skill.
Loving Conflict is a commitment to everyone having the skills for transformation through difficult relational moments.
We call this work Loving Conflict because we know that we can love that which transforms us, and because we know a key way to love each other is to bring skill to difficult dynamics with each other.
This group is a learning, unlearning, and practice space - in the lineage of Transformative Justice & Abolition - for folks wanting to build skill with conflict.
We combine somatic practice and embodied inquiry with reading & discussion, and our goal is for each person to grow their conflict capacity in the ways they identify at the beginning of our cohort.

Julia and Char co-facilitate an embodied practice workshop that introduces self-massage techniques based on myofascial principles and supports us to track shifts in our nervous system through the fascial & muscular release.
This myofascial release and unwinding practice is a slow, breath-centered process that supports de-armorning and stress relief in the body. We will be paying special attention to the ways our nervous system shifts in response to the physical changes.
These two hours are a hands-on practice space including a brief survey of nervous system states & the muscular/facial associations with each, then a generous session of fascia massage practices led by Julia Taylor.
Julia offers nearly 30 years of anatomy study along with training in Upledger Craniosacral Therapy, Barral’s Visceral and Neural Manipulation, Alignment Yoga, Myofascial Release, and Somatic Experiencing. Char brings a synthesis of multidisciplinary Somatics training and a specific focus on understanding our nervous system states for greater individual agency and collective liberation.
